One Kick from Glory: Moscow, 2008
Manchester United v Chelsea · Luzhniki Stadium · 2008 Champions League Final
One Kick from Glory
Moscow, 21 May 2008. Deep into extra time in the first all-English Champions League final, Didier Drogba was sent off for slapping Nemanja Vidić. The fifth penalty of the shootout should have been his, so John Terry took it, slipped in the rain and hit the post. Edwin van der Sar then saved from Nicolas Anelka, and Manchester United were champions of Europe. Framed, matted, ready to hang.
