5000 to 1: Leicester City, 2016
In the 2014-15 season Leicester City spent most of the winter bottom of the Premier League. A year later they were champions. Bookmakers had priced them at 5000-1, which makes it the biggest upset in the history of English football.
The great escape
Leicester survived the 2014-15 season with a late run of wins, and in the summer appointed Claudio Ranieri, who had just been sacked by Greece after a defeat to the Faroe Islands. Few expected anything more than another fight against relegation.
Vardy, Mahrez, Kanté
Jamie Vardy scored in eleven Premier League games in a row, a record. Riyad Mahrez was voted the PFA Players' Player of the Year. N'Golo Kanté seemed to cover every blade of grass. Leicester went top and stayed there.
Champions
The title was confirmed on 2 May 2016 when Tottenham drew at Chelsea, with the players watching together at Vardy's house. Five days later, captain Wes Morgan and Ranieri lifted the trophy together at the King Power Stadium.
