Manchester City v QPR · Premier League · 2012

93:20: Agüero, 2012

Manchester City went into the last day of the 2011-12 Premier League level on points with Manchester United and ahead on goal difference. Losing 2-1 to ten-man QPR in stoppage time, they scored twice, and Sergio Agüero's winner at 93 minutes 20 seconds won the title.

Slipping away

Pablo Zabaleta put City ahead, but Djibril Cissé equalised and, after Joey Barton was sent off, Jamie Mackie headed ten-man QPR in front. Manchester United won at Sunderland, so as the game went into stoppage time the title was going to Old Trafford.

Two goals in stoppage time

Edin Džeko headed in a David Silva corner. Then Agüero played a one-two with Mario Balotelli, skipped past a challenge and smashed the ball past Paddy Kenny. The clock read 93:20. On television, Martin Tyler shouted "Agüerooooo!" and told viewers they would never see anything like it again.

Forty-four years

It was City's first league title since 1968, won on goal difference with the last attack of the season.
