Pelé · Brazil v Italy · 1970 World Cup Final · Framed poster
Three Times a King
Mexico City, 21 June 1970. Eighteen minutes into the World Cup final, Pelé rose above Tarcisio Burgnich to head Brazil in front against Italy, and Jairzinho lifted him into the Azteca sky. Burgnich said afterwards that he had told himself Pelé was made of skin and bones like everyone else, and that he was wrong. Brazil won 4-1, Pelé became the only player to win three World Cups, and the Jules Rimet Trophy stayed in Brazil for good. Framed, matted, ready to hang.
