The Cosmic Kite

Mexico City, 22 June 1986. Four minutes after the Hand of God, Diego Maradona picked the ball up in his own half, turned away from Peter Beardsley and Peter Reid, and ran sixty metres through the England team before rounding Peter Shilton to score. On Argentine radio, Víctor Hugo Morales called him a cosmic kite and asked what planet he had come from. In 2002 a FIFA poll named it the Goal of the Century. Framed, matted, ready to hang.
